Social sector services division:

This is one of SAC’s most established. It is supported by a team of highly experienced experts in rural and urban development, relief and rehabilitation, natural resources management, social and political, economists, microfinance, sociologists, agriculture and allied services, area development, public health and gender issues. All SAC’s experts have hands on grass-root experience. Girish Bharadwaj Founder Director of SAC, himself a highly experienced social sector expert devotes most of his time to this division.

This division is currently focused on developing countries and has access to global experts from different parts of the world. The division provides end to end corporate sector service that facilitates large industry in addressing socio political concerns of communities affected by industry. SAC experts will design, help implement, provide support and monitor programs especially designed to alleviate community shortfalls.

These interventions will also greatly ease the difficulty faced by industry while setting up projects in areas where communities are either displaced or are adversely impacted by losing their traditional livelihoods and disrupting their way of life. The interventions will be designed by deploying participatory techniques. The program design will be people and ecology friendly and the results will help reduce alienation of affected communities, help in trust building between industry and communities and finally result in building a synergistic relationship between communities and industry. SAC teams will be deployed on the ground throughout the life cycle of such programs.

The social sector SAC teams also are available for deploying their considerable grass-root experience in building local innovative poverty alleviation focused solutions for the benefit of marginal and disadvantaged communities. Most of the poverty alleviation work is financed either by government, international aid, corporate and charity. The execution is generally done by government institutions where questions of governance and corruption are often raised. The other execution agencies have limited design and implementation capability. The result is poor achievement of outcomes.

We will innovatively design area specific programs and solutions for alleviating poverty amongst target communities and groups. The service will not be restricted to just design but will extend to help in implementation and support. Results will be measured by pre-defined measurable values that will form part of the program design.

SAC will interact closely with governments, charity institutions and corporations for their corporate social responsibility programs to deliver results. The SAC model is fundamentally different from Not for Profit Organizations although we will be interacting very closely with Not for Profit agencies. The emphasis here is on designing and running a project on business lines with clear milestones and payments to us will be linked to achievement of tangible results.

SAC is looking for collaborative arrangement with all stakeholders, governments, local bodies, charity, corporate bodies and Not for Profits and aid agencies.
